An evening in Weichs… In front of a large fuel cell system with a label on it which says “PEM FC” stands Benny Hitzlifitzli in bewilderment: “NO,ladies, this is not a ‘power-egg-laying-machine’! PEM FC stands for ‘polymer-electrolyte-membrane fuel cell’ !“ And he adds: “Not long now and I will eat them!” – One of the chicken replies disrespectfully: “You eat us?- but you get dizzy when you see blood” and an other chick says: “Don’t trust him. He is a fox! Most likely ‘FC’ stands for Fried Chicken!” The cock and Hydrochan are looking around the corner. The marmot cracks up: “These chicks will drive us to the end of our rope” and the cock admits laughing: “Every so often they are so exhausting.”

This cartoon was made on the occasion of the visit of Mortimer Schulz at our home in Weichs. With his long distance tours which he documents on his website ENERGYTOURS he proofs that cars with fuel cell are a real alternative to cars with combustion engine.

Description: A marmot is introducing himself: “My name is Hydrochan, I’m a groundhog. Do you have hydrogen?” Benny Hitzlifitzli replies: “And I am Hitzlifitzli, the fox. Of course we have hydrogen. We just produced it with our roof top solar energy plant.” Hydrochan is very happy: “I really need two kilograms please!” and Hitzlifitzli says: “Here you go! And by the way – have a happy Groundhog-Day” This incident was noticed by two chickens. One of them is really enthusiastic: “Did you hear this? It is amazing! – His car lost two kilograms just by moving around!” But the other chicken replies: “When you refuel the car with hydrogen it’s weight will increase again. This is also called to be a yo-yo-effect.”

This is the very first cartoon with Hitzlifitzli and Hydrochan. He is a new mascot and it is a groundhog. These animals also known as Muggen (Switzerland) or as Mankei – as we say in upper Bavaria and Austria – is designed for Mortimer Schulz solutions in energy e.U.. Mortimer Schulz also known as “Hydrochan” within social media and his long time publication via his website: Energytours
One of his successful trips on 4th January 2019 led him to Weichs. Finally we could talk to each other personally. And he unveiled me his wish to have his own mascot for his company. Mr. Heinz Nefzger publicated an article in our local newspaper, see the following (Sorry only in German language):

Helium Experiment: Benny and the cock stand close to a fan. In front of it are eggs hovering: Benny says: When you fortify the chicken feed with helium it reduces the shipping weight considerably. The cock watches skeptical but interested. The hovering eggs are driven against the wall by the fan wind and break with a yellow blob. Two chicks are close to this: What a funny high pitched voice you have from the helium, says one of them und and the other replies: Last year they feed us confetti to make us lay colorful polka-doted eggs. What on earth will they come up with next Easter?

I think I am going crazy!” Meanwhile the chicken have a problem: During charging the truck the carton with the egss crashed onto the floor. On chicken says: “Dang! Benny is about to go flying with a seaplane. His chicken recommends to adjust the altimeter correctly. Doing so avoids making a submarine out of the seaplane while landing.
